Foundations of Theory and Practice
To support ākonga to develop a foundational understanding of holistic development as outlined in Te Whāriki, and to explore key theories, philosophies, and approaches that inform early childhood education practice. Ākonga will construct a personal philosophy of teaching and learning andexamine the importance of play as a key mechanism for supporting tamariki development in early learning environments.
